Hello Everyone,
I want to share some things that the Lord has been talking to me about over the past few weeks. Let me begin by sharing a remarkable prophecy from the book of Amos.
Amos 8:11-12 (KJV)
11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord:
12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it.
As you read this prophecy, I want you to take note of what the prophecy is actually saying. He is not saying that there would be a famine of God SPEAKING the Word. He said that there would be a famine of those who would HEAR it!
Scripture is clear that, in the last days, there will NOT be a famine of God speaking. Quite the contrary! The Word of God teaches that there will be an abundance of revelation and ministry of the Word of God being declared to that generation.
No matter how hard the enemy will try to stop the Word of God from going forth, he will be unsuccessful. Jesus taught in Mat 24; that the last days would be a time of turmoil, earthquakes, famines, wars, rumors of wars, etc. [Does that sound like where we are today, the beginning of sorrows - Gk."birth pangs" in the earth (Mat 24:6-8)?] But He had this to say about the Word of God.
Matthew 24:14 (KJV)
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
It should also be noted in this prophecy of Amos that those who are NOT HEARING the Word of God WOULD BE SEEKING TO FIND IT! It is apparent that they will be going to great lengths to pursue it. They will be willing to use whatever resources are necessary to try and find the word of the Lord. Yet, they will be unsuccessful. This is an amazing insight into the last days from the prophet Amos, especially in the light of Jesus’ promise to the seeker.
Matthew 7:7-8 (KJV)
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
In the light of Jesus’ promise, we must ask the question, "Why would those who were seeking the word of the Lord, not be able to find it?".When I asked the Lord that question, the answer I received from the Lord was profound! He said, "These people will be desperately wanting to hear FROM God without being committed TO God."
Then the word of the Lord came to me and said this.
"The days of men trying to hear from heaven and yet trying to give their attention to the word of the world at the same time is over. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God. And I will no longer permit my people to hear My Voice when their attention is focused on the voices of the world. For even if they heard my voice, they would not believe it! (Read 2Ki 7:1-2,17-20)
"But for those who choose to hear my voice, believe it, and obey it, for those who close their eyes and ears to the word of the world, and focus on my words and my voice, THEY shall eat in the midst of famine. THEY shall drink in the midst of drought. THEY shall be blessed in the midst of cursing. And THEY shall rejoice in the midst of sorrow." (Read Pr. 4:20-27)
"Though the wicked shall try to sow the seeds of discouragement, failure, and defeat with their voice among My people, they will not succeed. For they will not be acknowledged or followed by My people. Though the wicked shall try to prevent their blessing, those who are truly called by my Name shall trample them underfoot in the gate and rejoice in the abundance of my provision!" (Read Mal 4:1-6)
There may be those that would argue with this word. But consider what James said in his epistle to the churches.
James 1:5-8 (KJV)
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
James 4:1-10 (KJV)
1 From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
5 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
Romans 10:17 (KJV)
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
If we are to hear from God in these last days, we must be TOTALLY FOCUSED on His Word, and His Word, alone. It must become THE FINAL AUTHORITY in our lives above all the voices of the world! It must become THE FINAL AUTHORITY over the voices of the news media, Hollywood, Washington, and Wall Street!
There are those that would say that we need to be realistic and stay abreast of the factual aspects of what is going on around us. Knowing "the facts" is one thing. But allowing "the facts" to govern our hearts, our lives, and our decisions is quite another.
Luke 21:26 (KJV)
26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
For the true believer, "the facts’ must not be placed on the same level of authority as "the truth" of God’s Word. Facts are circumstantial. They can change in a moment. (If you don’t believe that, follow the Stock Market News for a couple of days.). The truth of God’s Word, however, is eternal. It does NOT change!
The news media, no matter how honest they try to be, can only give the facts, They cannot give the truth. (FOX News may be "fair and balanced" but they are not spiritual.)
The people of God have been trying to keep their finger on the pulse of the world by knowing "the facts" that are being declared by the voices of this world. And they have been trying to hear the voice of God by walking in the truth of God’s Word, at the same time.
All of this has been done for the purpose of seeking to make "intelligent" life decisions. The end result has been confusion caused by the influx of fear from the "facts" of the world, contaminating whatever faith they might have gleaned from their efforts to hear from God.
If the church is to hear from heaven in the last days, God is requiring that what He has said in His Word be the FINAL AUTHORITY in our lives. Whenever the voices of the world are contradicting the Word of God, we must choose to ignore the voices of the world, and bank every aspect of our lives on the ETERNAL, UNCHANGEABLE TRUTH OF GOD’S WORD!
